Remember, 9-11 was an economic attack

A reader on Andrew Sullivan's blog notes some comments on last night's Bill Maher show:

Is Bin Laden's Strategy Working?
A reader writes:

"Last night on Bill Maher, the comedian Gary Shandling, of all people, synthesized the connection between our current economic crisis and 9/11 and the Iraq War in a way I have not heard:

On 9/11, Al Qaeda had no expectation of a traditional military victory against the United States. The point of the attack was economic -- to draw the U.S. into expensive and protracted foreign wars that would deplete our resources and destabilize our government. By invading Iraq, George Bush became the happy idiot to assist Al Qaeda in this goal. Now, Sarah Palin and John McCain take the leaders of Al Qaeda at their word when they say Iraq is the major front in the war on terror.

Neither consider the possibility that Al Qaeda wants Iraq to be the major front because it furthers their goal of weakening the U.S. while inflicting minimal damage on their operations.

Seven years after 9/11, we are seeing Al Qaeda's long-term goal being realized: the destabilization and economic collapse of the United States. Even as it's happening, the people who supported it all along want to continue facilitating our own long-term disintegration by clinging to simplistic concepts of traditional military victory and defeat. In this sense, they are possibly the most myopic, least strategic thinkers in the history of this nation.

As Gary Shandling said, with this approach, our only hope of killing Osama Bin Laden is that he'll laugh himself to death."

My fear is that the real goal is not just to entrap the West in Iraq and Afghanistan for the rest of our lives but to trigger an even greater conflagration by being baited into a first strike on Iran. Yes: I know Shiite Iran and Sunni al Qaeda have little in common. But both must be loving the West's self-inflicted wounds of the past seven years and greatly anticipating the hotheaded McCain taking even more bait even further. Palin? Never in their wildest dreams ...

Our current economic crisis: Could part be a terror attack on U.S. financials?

On this year's anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, there was a sudden surge in the activity of U.S. hedge funds originating from overseas... like Dubai. There was a sharp rise in "short selling" of stocks, similar to the suspicious trades in the days preceding September 11, 2001. According to one well-known economist, the same institutions attacked on 9/11 are those suffering now. Coincidence?

By Douglas J. Hagmann, Director

26 September 2008: A week ago, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) took the unprecedented step of temporarily banning the fairly common practice of “short selling” securities in response to the widening economic crisis in the U.S. The essence of the ban is that the SEC has placed a hold on “short selling” in 799 financial institutions until October 2, 2008, in tandem with the FSA, which is the British counterpart of the SEC.

LIPSTICK FEMINIST said...

Too bad that liberal democrat women don't realize that their party left them a long time ago. It doesn't matter how they feel about Palin.....the fact is their own party didn't deem a woman good enough for the Democratic VP ticket...THAT is the biggest bitter pill to swallow. Who cares about Palin of you are a liberacrat? She isn't your candidate...she isn't someone you will vote for anyway...but for those of us that really DO want change, that really do want HOPE then the McCain/Palin ticket actually can deliver.....she has a proven record of change and of taking on her own party.....enough said.....women without an elitist agenda and women who are not pseudo-intellectuals can actually support Palin without feeling threatened or demoralized.

This from Dr. Long, renowned FEMINIST, am voting for McCain-Palin and I am a feminist. Many feminists can’t understand my choice. I am not betraying the cause, the fight, the mission, because I don’t want to vote Democratic. The Democratic Party is not our ally. The Democratic Party is 60% women but it has only once selected a woman as a vice-presidential candidate and that was nearly a quarter of a century ago. We are chattel in our own party. The head of the Democratic National Committee has never been a woman. Money donated to the Women’s Leadership Fund is funneled into the Obama Victory Fund. We cannot give dominion over our bodies or ourselves to one party. Current feminist groups have no teeth because they are part and parcel of the Democratic Party. They are held hostage by Roe v. Wade. They know it and the Democratic Party knows it. The only way to regain our power is to regain our vote. The Democratic Party has no reason to earn our vote. We’ve sacrificed one choice for another.

I will by not be held hostage by the Democratic Party that turned a blind eye to the corruption in the Democratic primaries and Democratic caucuses.

I will not be held hostage by the Democratic Party that ignored a woman who got 18 million votes.

I will not be held hostage by the Democratic Party a party that was deaf, dumb and blind to the persistent and pervasive sexist attacks against Hillary Clinton.

I will not be held hostage by a Democratic Party that has never had a female head of the DNC.

I will not be threatened into submission. I will not cast my vote based on fear.

The Democratic Party cannot be rewarded for its pervasive disrespect of women. Sometimes you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. Sometimes you have to tear down a house before you can rebuild it. Most feminists think the Democratic Party will treat them differently during the next election. There is no next time. There is only this time. Reinforcing abuse only perpetuates abuse. In any abusive relationship, you have to leave to get respect. Abusers are often charming and apologetic and hold out the hope of better behavior. But there is no then, there is only now.

I am a woman and I am a feminist. To the other feminists out there I ask, “Where is your pride or are you a victim of your own misogyny?”

I am a woman and right now I am ashamed to say, I am a feminist.

THANK YOU Dr. LONG for being woman enough to voice it....

"NO USA" Chants in Carson City defining moment in Election '08
Sarah Palin Rally, Obama supporters
By Judi McLeod Monday, October 6, 2008
On weekends when even Internet giants like the Drudge Report and FoxNews.com seem to be on skeleton staff, theodoresworld.net is wide awake.
So it was courtesy of Theodore's World, sent to Canada Free Press by stalwart Dave Hollenbeck, that we got to see what I consider to be, the defining moment of Election '08.
That defining moment happened at Carson City, California, where Sarah Palin addressed throngs of an estimated 20,000 at the tennis stadium at the Home Depot Center.

The throngs who showed up to see and hear Republican Vice President candidate Sarah Palin were chanting, "USA! USA!"

Obama supporters on the same scene fomenting for revolution were chanting "No USA! "No USA!"

In that moment in Carson City, the difference between John McCain and Barack Obama supporters could not have been any starker.

But as usual when the mainstream media covered the story, it was only to turn it around.

Carson City, Calif. is the place where Palin went on the attack, starting on Obama's connection to domestic terrorist William Ayers and others, to a wildly cheering crowd.

Don't expect to see any alarms raised about the "No USA!" chant by the mainstream media. They were too busy reporting on the Bruce Springsteen "Bush Bash" going on at the same time in Philadelphia.

Sarah Palin accused Barack Obama of "palling around with terrorists".

Here's what AP had to say about Palin's criticism of Obama's connection to Ayers: "By claiming that Democrat Barack Obama is "palling around with terrorists" and doesn't see the U.S. like other Americans, vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin targeted key goals for a faltering campaign.

"And though she may have scored a political hit each time, her attack was unsubstantiated and carried a racially tinged subtext that John McCain himself may come to regret."

In a media world where the lies of Barack Obama routinely go unchallenged, it is now "racist" to tell the American people the truth.

Back at Carson City's Home Depot Center, sheriffs escorted out five or six Obamabots as the crowds were chanting "USA!" USA!"

"Sarah riffed on one, saying something like, "We fight for their freedoms as well". (The) crowd loved it." ( theodoresworld.net, Oct. 5, 2008).

In election campaigns as intense as Election '08, it can be confusing for people, particularly when so many in the mainstream media have abandoned any pretense of fairness and balance.

To understand what is going on in the USA 30 days before election, we only have to turn to The video that could cost Obama the election. (here).

The video shows how Obama used his elected office-and taxpayers' dollars-to support a man like Kenya's Raila Odinga, self touted as "Your Agent for Change".
Obama supporters in Carson City chanted "No USA!" Odinga supporters in Kenya, brandished machetes and chanted "No Peace!"

Human Rights Watch states that Odinga's Socialist Orange Democratic Movement "actively fomented post-election violence" when Raila lost by 231,728 votes.
In Kenya, allegations of vote rigging came before a single ballot was ever cast.

(Leftists and Obama supporters are already saying that SNOPES denies the veracity of the Odinga/Obama video.

But as Hollenbeck points out, "it wouldn't be the first time that SNOPES said something was untrue that I KNEW was true!")

Like the Artful Dodger of contemporary politics, Obama has wormed his way past the media and the American electorate at almost every opportunity.

There have been countless pictures of Obama throughout the campaign, most recently in the form of a short dress worn by a model on a Paris runway. But the picture that best portrays Barack Obama is captured on The Video that could cost Obama the election. It is a picture of Obama campaigning for Odinga with a megaphone!

Agents of change like Odinga and Obama are part of an all encompassing plan to force the populations of two once stable nations under the heel of soul-killing Communism.

In Soviet Subversion of the Free Press, a conversation with Yuri Bezmenov, it is explained in plain enough English how the useful idiots working against America today will be treated in the closing chapters of the takeover.
Bezmenov mentions useful idiots active since the 1960s, and in particular useful idiot Jane Fonda, now out on the hustings stumping for Obama.

"In future these people will be squashed like cockroaches. They're not going to be paid for their noble ideas."

Vote rigging began in Kenya before the first votes were ever cast. The New York Post says, "Voter fraud is expected to be rampant" in Election 08.

If the Federal Elections Commission cannot clamp down on voter fraud by ACORN, the next stage of Ideological Subversion goes into action in what is arguably the greatest nation on earth.

God protect Americans from Obama and Marxist-Leninism in the Land of the Free!
